Five managers have traveled to a secret planning conference arranged by Robert Leonhard and his female assistant. In a secluded, run-down villa in the former East Germany they work on the "Vineta" project, a new city and "theme park for broken dreams", that will be built on an uninhabited island. The first freight ships are already on their way as Leonhard summons the star architect Sebastian Färber, Vineta's designer. Ideological rifts loom, an unrestrained struggle for power breaks out amongst the men which goes as far as murder. And this is just the beginning of an entire chain of tragicomic events.
