Ronald Marx (Artistic Director)
was born in New York to German- Jewish parents, grew up in Germany and studying psychology and acting in Düsseldorf. He was engaged as an actor under Hans Günther Heyme at Schauspiel Essen in the 1992/1993 season and then in Salzburg and Giessen. At the same time, he began working in German television and appeared, amongst others, in the WDR/ARTE production "Heine’s Birthday" (Directed by Robert Longo) and the ZDF miniseries "Reise des Herzens". Marx co-founded German Theater Abroad (GTA) in New York in 1996 and continues to serve as Artistic Director and Producer. Marx is responsible for the conceptualization and realization of all of GTA’s projects. Marx directed "A ist eine Andere" (Sauter/Studlar) during the "Playstation" Festival and Adam Rapp’s "Blackbird" during the "Red Eye Series". Marx has directed over 40 readings in the "Talking Texts series" at the GTA Shop in Berlin. |
